From RRR to Adipurush, 5 upcoming pan-India films we are excited to watch in 2022

The last two years were a hibernation period of sorts for the Indian film industry as theatres largely remained closed due to the pandemic. However, thanks to OTT platforms, mid-range films had a chance to find audiences. But now, with restrictions lifted in many states, 2022 is expected to be a blockbuster year for the Indian film industry as several high-profile pan-India films are set to release. Here is the list of five upcoming pan-India films that we would like to watch in 2022.

1. RRR

One of the most awaited films of the year, Ram Charan and Jr. NTR starrer RRR was meant to be on the list. The period drama has been delayed several times due to the pandemic, but now it will finally be released on March 25th. Directed by S.S. Rajamouli and produced by DVV Entertainment, the film also features Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in pivotal roles.

2. Radhe Shyam

When talking about films that got postponed several times due to the pandemic, how can we forget Radhe Shyam. This Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer is now set for release on March 11. The film is a period romantic drama directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and produced under the banners of T-Series Films and UV Creations.

3. KGF: Chapter 2

What other film is more awaited by fans than Yash’s upcoming blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2? The film has been making headlines since its first part, KGF Chapter 1, was released in 2018 and broke several records at the domestic box office. The makers surely kept fans waiting for this action thriller. The film is directed by Prashanth Neel and produced under the banner of Hombale Films. It is set to release on April 14th.

4. Pushpa: The Rules

If there is one film that broke the rules of pandemic, it is Pushpa: The Rise (2021), the first film in the Pushpa franchise. Thanks to the Allu Arjun phenomenon, the film broke all box office records and did exceptionally well worldwide. Now the second part of the series is scheduled to be released in the month of December this year. Directed by Sukumar, the film is eagerly awaited by Allu Arjun fans worldwide. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, Pushpa: The Rule will also star Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna, along with Allu Arjun.

5. Adipurush

This year, Prabhas will release his much-awaited magnum opus, Adipurush, which will be a mythological film based on the epic Ramayana. Prabhas will play the role of Lord Rama, and Saif Ali Khan will be seen as Ravana in the film. Kriti Sanon will essay the role of Sita in this Om Raut directorial while Sunny Singh plays Laxman. The film is produced by T-Series and will be released on August 11, 2022.
