Malayalam cinema gave the country one of the best films when they released both parts of Drishyam. The first and second Drishyam films by Mohanlal were huge commercial successes. The franchise's opening film, Drishyam, has been translated into nearly all of India's main languages as well as some significant foreign languages, including Chinese. Drishyam 2, the second part, was recently recreated in Telugu and Hindi, with the Bollywood version starring Ajay Devgn turning out to be a huge financial success. Now, Drishyam is branching out internationally. The movie series is currently being remade in both English and other foreign languages.
The respected label Panorama Studios has acquired the rights to adapt the Drishyam series in the English language, according to the most recent reports. The Drishyam 2 remake is being discussed for a Korean, Japanese, and English language release, the production banner added. The makers announced in an official statement saying, “After the tremendous success of Drishyam 2 (in Hindi), Panorama Studios International Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has acquired remake rights of the Malayalam language films Drishyam and Drishyam 2 in all foreign languages including English, but excluding Filipino, Sinhala, and Indonesian. Adding to the multiple language rights for the film, we have also acquired the rights of the Chinese language remake of Drishyam 2. We are now in negotiations to produce the film in Korea, Japan, and Hollywood industries,"
Drishyam 3
There will soon be a third installment in the film series starring Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph. However, nothing has been finalized as of yet, according to a recent interview with director Jeethu Joseph, who said that he is in fact considering the possibility of a third installment. Additionally, the director disclosed that he has a plan for the Drishyam 3 climax, which will be the last installment in the series and feature Mohanlal. The director is currently preoccupied with his other professional obligations, which prevents him from creating a strong storyline. The Malayalam version of Drishyam 3 is still in the early stages, and Jeethu claims that there is no chance that it will begin soon. Nevertheless, he clarified that the project is certainly planned and would go forward at the right time.
