Jailer: Rajinikanth to begin filming for Nelson Dilipkumar’s next in August
The film is touted to be an action thriller in which some gangsters plan a jailbreak.

Nelson Dilipkumar’s upcoming film Jailer, which was earlier tentatively called Thalaivar 169, is all set to go on floors in August this year.
Starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, the film is touted to be an action thriller in which some gangsters plan a jailbreak. Rajini will be playing an ace jailer, who tries to thwart their jailbreak attempt.
As per reports, Jailer will present an ensemble star cast consisting of Shivrajkumar and Ramya Krishnan, among others.
It was recently reported that the makers have approached Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the female lead opposite Rajinikanth. If this turns out to be true, then the duo will reunite after 11 years as they previously collaborated for the blockbuster film Ethiran, (titled Robo in Telugu) which released in 2011.
As of now, except for music composer Anirudh Ravichander being on board, no other cast and crew details have been officially announced.
Jailer is being produced by Sun Pictures, which had bankrolled Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast (2022). The makers also took to social media and shared the intriguing title first poster of Jailer, which shows a knife with blood on it. Stay tuned for more updates!
