The film was revealed in August of this year, and it has generated a lot of buzz. It was previously stated that the film's production had commenced in New Zealand, with additional schedules in Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad. It is also claimed that Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Nayanthara have been cast in key parts. ‘Kannappa’ is an action-adventure drama film based on the actual life of Bhakta Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. Tanikella Bharani created the narrative, which was then adapted into a screenplay by V. Vijayendra Prasad, Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, G. Nageswara Reddy, Thota Prasad, and Sainath Thotapalli. Mohan Babu is producing the film through his companies, 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainments. Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy composed the film's soundtrack.

The ‘Vedha’ actor will next be seen in MG Srinivas' forthcoming heist action movie ‘Ghost’. The film, which stars Jayaram, Anupam Kher, Prashant Narayanan, and others, is set to be released on October 19th.
In addition, Shivanna will appear in Dhanush's next film ‘Captain Miller,’ directed by Arun Matheswaran. The film will be released in theatres on December 15th.
