In December, filmmaker-actor Rishab Shetty will begin filming on the highly anticipated sequel to his smash film 'Kantara.' This sequel, which is slated to be primarily shot in India, is projected to outperform its predecessor in terms of scope and action, with filming set to wrap in August 2024.
According to reports, 'Kantara 2', the sequel to Rishab Shetty's highly acclaimed film Kantara, which was even considered for an Oscar contender, will begin production in December. The sequel will be shot largely in India and would be a larger-scale film with more dramatic action sequences. Shetty is presently undertaking intense physical preparation for his part.

'Kantara 2' has been widely anticipated by fans, especially following the previous installment's enormous success and global notoriety, which acquired popularity mostly via favorable word-of-mouth and even got consideration for an Oscar contender. The sequel's pre-production work is already started.
A reputable source close to the production told, “Kantara 2 shoot begins in December. Rishab is currently prepping for the film, which is being planned to be mounted on a larger scale than the first one. A lot of action can be expected in the second part; hence the shooting schedule is spread across vast timelines. The film will be shot across three phases and is expected to end by August 2024. 'Kantara 2' will mostly be shot in the country.”

Rishab Shetty's hard physical preparation for the sequel foreshadows the film's heavy action sequences. According to Chaluve Gowda of Hombale Films, the script for the film was completed in the first part of 2023.
