South’s star Karthi has had a successful year with his latest release Ponniyin Selvan hitting it big at the box office. The first poster for one of the most well-known actors, Karthi's 25th movie, Japan, has finally been released. The actor, who appears to be playing the part of an affluent youth, is introduced in the poster, directed by Raju Murugan, in a peculiar avatar.
Karthi is pictured on the poster relaxing on his couch after what appears to be a crazy party. Behind him is a gold-clad image of himself. He holds a flashy, 3D model of the world in one hand and a gold-plated machine pistol in the other. Karthi's persona appears to have grandiose illusions. The superstar shared the poster on his social media and wrote, “Excited to start this journey of a quirky guy! #Japan - Made in India. #JapanFirstLook”
Anu Emmanuel makes her acting debut in the eagerly anticipated movie Japan, which also features Sunil in a pivotal role and marks the acting debut of well-known cinematographer Vijay Milton. Along with the actors and crew of the movie, Karthi recently celebrated Ponniyin Selvan 1's achievement. Through global ticket sales, the Mani Ratnam picture has amassed more than Rs 500 crore. Currently, in post-production, Ponniyin Selvan 2 is scheduled to hit theatres in 2023.
