Leo: Is The Thalapathy Vijay Starrer On For A SEQUEL? Director Lokesh Kanagaraj SPILL THE BEANS! (Details Inside)

The highly awaited action film ‘Leo’, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the title role, is due to hit theatres on October 19, Thursday. The eagerly anticipated production represents the acclaimed star's second onscreen collaboration with the great filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, following the huge success of the 2021 film ‘Master.’

As you may be aware, the long-awaited ‘Leo’ teaser was recently unveiled, raising the stakes for Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial debut. To the amazement of his fans and moviegoers, the great filmmaker revealed his sequel intentions for the Thalapathy Vijay blockbuster in a recent interview with Behindwoods.

In an interview with Galatta Plus, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj indicated that ‘Leo’, like his earlier films Kaithi and Vikram, may receive a sequel. However, the filmmaker could not divulge any further specifics since he could only speak about it after the release of Thalapathy Vijay's film.

"I can't say about ‘Leo’ part 2 until the film is released. If Brother Thalapathy Vijay calls me, then I will do it. My next projects are ‘Thalaivar 171’ (with Rajinikanth) and ‘Kaithi 2’ (with Karthi)," revealed Lokesh Kanagaraj in the interview.

So far, the filmmaker has disclosed that he has only developed ideas for Kathi 2. Lokesh further stated that after the Karthi film is completed, he would select between the Rolex spin-off and ‘Vikram 2’. However, it has been revealed that a sequel to ‘Leo’ is quite likely.

About ‘Leo’:

According to the recently released official teaser, Thalapathy Vijay is portraying two roles in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, Parthiban and Leo Das. Trisha Krishnan is reprising her role as Parthiban's wife in Leo, marking her 15-year reunion with Vijay.

Sanjay Dutt portrays the main antagonist, Anthony Das, while Arjun Sarja plays Harold Das. Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, Sandy Master, Anurag Kashyap, Babu Antony, Baby Iyal, George Maryam, Manobala, and many others appear in supporting parts in ‘Leo.’ Anirudh Ravichander composed the film's songs as well as the original score.
