Manasanamaha, a highly regarded short film, now has a new accomplishment in its bag. It is the first Telugu short film to be listed in the prestigious Guinness Book of World Records, under the direction of debutant director Deepak Reddy. The cast of the film includes Viraj Ashwin, Drishika Chander, Srivalli Raghavender, and Prithvi Sharma.
According to the official Guinness website page, the short has garnered 513 awards from various international film festivals. The short film was reportedly filmed in just five days.
Manasanamaha is a romantic comedy short produced by Shilpa Gajjala, which follows a young guy who reflects on the meaning of love while recalling three romances from his past. Three distinct seasons—Chaitra (spring), Varsha (monsoon), and Seeta—represent the three women in his life (Winter). The director of the film shared this achievement on his Instagram handle. He wrote, “Manasanamaha Creates History as the most award-winning short film in the world! TeluguCinema.”
Major film actor Adivi Sesh applauded Deepak on Twitter for the accomplishment. In addition, he also expressed excitement for Deepak's upcoming feature film. The actor wrote, “Dear Deepu, what a phenomenal achievement. A game-changing short film. I also have the pleasure of calling you a friend as well as the distributor of Major. I can’t wait for you to shake the world with a feature film!
The film won the Best Short Film award at the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival. It served as the official submission for the BAFTA and Oscar awards.
