As an assistant director on numerous of Ajith's movies in the 1990s, Marimuthu was intimately acquainted with the actor. Their friendship was discussed by Marimuthu in one of his earlier interviews. Marimuthu was cited as saying in a Hindustan Times article, "Ajith helped me a lot. He is very fond of me. It's out of touch right now. A little far away. I am going to act with him in my next film. Then I am going to share everything with him.
“While I was working with Aasi during Vaali, he used to take me out on his bike and was quite lovely. Ajith is quite straightforward. Aasi used to ride his bike to the venue and wear a helmet while filming took place there.” This occurred in Vaali.
When I shared with Ajith that I wanted to enroll my son in a good school and couldn't afford the admission fee, Ajith immediately sent his manager and settled it for me. He paid my son's fee for the next eight years. Whenever I used to go to the school to clear the payments, they told me that they already received it from Ajith's office. I just don't have words to thank him."
Marimuthu then continued, "I could not meet Ajith after Veeram. His lifestyle changed and he became a hardened man due to the betrayal he faced. He built his life around his wife, and children, and is a family man. He arranged houses for all his workers and made decisions without even thinking twice."
