Nelson Dilipkumar to direct Rajinikanth’s 169th film; shooting begins this summer
One of the biggest superstars in the Indian film industry, Rajinikanth, is gearing up for his 169th film. The superstar is collaborating with Nelson Dilipkumar for the upcoming film. The official announcement will be made soon with a special video.
The film will be produced by Sun Pictures and music will be scored by Anirudh Ravichander, who will be working for the third time with the superstar after Petta (2019) and Darbar (2020). The film will be made in all South Indian languages and also in Hindi.
The shooting will start in the summer, either at the end of April or early March. The film will be completed over the span of five to six months and it will be shot in multiple locations, keeping COVID-19 restrictions in mind. The film will likely have a theatrical release in the period of December 2022 to February 2023.
Speaking about the film, a source said, "Rajinikanth and Nelson are teaming up next for a feature film. It's a typical Nelson Dilipkumar film, with a lot of content and a lot of quirky elements in the script. The entire team is excited to take the film on floors by April end or early May. "
Rajinikanth was last seen in the Siruthai Siva directorial family drama, Annaatthe (2021).
