Paradise: WOW! The Roshan Matthew Starrer Is All Set To Premiere At ‘THIS’ Festival! (Details Inside)

‘Paradise’, a film directed by Sri Lankan filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage and featuring Malayalam actors Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran, is planned to premiere at the 28th Busan International Film Festival on October 7, 2023. Mani Ratnam is presenting the picture, which was produced by Newton Cinemas, through his production firm, Madras Talkies. Sri Lankan actors such as Mahendra Perera and Shyam Fernando are expected to play pivotal roles in the film.

Prasanna and Anushka Senanayake wrote the screenplay for the film, and filmmaker Rajeev Ravi handled the cinematography. Sreekar Prasad was in charge of the film's editing, while composer K (Krishna Kumar) was in charge of the music.

About the 28th Busan International Film Festival:

The 28th Busan International Film Festival will be held at the Busan Cinema Center in Busan, South Korea, from October 4 to October 13. Song Kang-ho of 'Parasite' fame will emcee the opening event, with Park Eun-bin serving as moderator. Beginning with South Korean film Because I Hate Korea by Jang Kun-jae, 269 films will be shown, including 209 officially invited films from 69 countries. Jung Sung-il, a South Korean film critic, director, and screenwriter, will preside over the festival's main competition jury as Chairman.

Furthermore, ‘Paradise’ is vying for the Kim Jiseok Award, which is granted to the most appealing films that reflect Asian cinema's modern position in accordance with the late Kim Jiseok's objective.

‘Paradise’ is a film set in 2022 Sri Lanka, during the country's financial crisis, which prompted shortages of essential services and widespread unrest. According to sources, the film will be a captivating tale of love and crime that will take spectators on an emotional rollercoaster throughout the film. The film is supposed to focus on the key characters, demonstrating how a crisis reveals each individual's true nature and the discrepancies in their seemingly perfect relationship. The film will be distributed in English, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Sinhalese.

Roshan Mathew is a famous face to Malayalam filmgoers, and he is noted for his outstanding performances in a variety of films. He was most recently seen in the 2023 film ‘Dhoomam’, alongside Fahadh Faasil. Darshana Rajendran is also noted for her realistic and relevant acting performances in her career, with films such as ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey’ and ‘Hridayam’ particularly attracting the attention of spectators.
