Ponniyin Selvan star Karthi pens a thankful note for Kamal Haasan and Rajnikanth
The magnificent epic Ponniyin Selvan I, directed by Mani Ratnam, was released on September 30. Prior to its release, the movie generated a lot of talk, and once the trailer and teaser were released, fans couldn't contain their enthusiasm. The top names in the industry, including Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, and Sobhita Dhulipala, are all featured in the movie. The movie broke box office records after a strong opening weekend. Ponniyin Selvan's cast has been getting rave compliments for their performances from both industry professionals and general audiences. Karthi who plays a warrior in the film recently wrote a special note to thank Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, two renowned actors.
Rajinikanth contacted the PS1 actors to appreciate them for their efforts while Kamal watched the movie with Karthi and Vikram. After getting a call from Rajinikanth, Karthi, who is overjoyed, stated in his post “Karthi, who is overwhelmed after receiving a call from Rajinikanth, wrote in his post: “Rajini sir, a call from you is extremely special. Your courtesy to reach out to others to appreciate their work and the joy that you give us is always endearing. Thank You." He also shares a thankful message for Kamal Haasan writing, "Kamal sir, you have always inspired us to seek bigger goals and set higher standards in cinema but most importantly you have taught us to love & respect one another and how to express that in these moments. Lots of love and respect.”

The best work of historical fiction by Kalki Krishnamurthy, with the same title, was adapted for the film. The story takes place in the eleventh century, at the height of Chola's dominance. Ponniyin Selvan includes danger, romance, and a struggle for control over the king's succession. The massive project has already become one of the Tamil cinema industry's biggest successes. In 2023, the eagerly anticipated Ponniyin Selvan sequel is expected to be released in theatres.
