Prime Video announces Thalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster film ‘Varisu’ PREMIERE date on their platform
After a successful run at the theatres, Thalapathy Vijay’s mega-hit film, ‘Varisu’ is set to stream on the giant OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video.

South superstar, Thalapathy Vijay’s film ‘Varisu’ was released in theatres alongside another superstar of the South, Ajith Kumar’s ‘Thunivu’ on January 11th. The film’s first day saw Thunivu leading Varisu but after the second, Vijay’s film became unstoppable and earned more than 200 crores at the box office worldwide leaving Ajith’s film way behind. After almost more than a month of release now the film is all set to stream on OTT.
Varisu to stream on Amazon Prime Video
Vijay's Varisu will begin streaming on Prime Video starting on February 22. The Vamshi Paidipally-directed film will be available to watch in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages. The streaming site announced the new saying, “hold tight because the wait is over! here he comes #VarisuOnPrime, Feb 22 coming soon in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam!”
Story of Varisu
The family drama called Varisu managed to draw audiences to theatres and smash numerous box office records. Rajendran (Sarath Kumar), the head of a mixed family and a business mogul, unintentionally puts his three kids against one another in an effort to identify the most deserving successor. The youngest son, Vijay (Vijay), decides to keep his family together while defending it from a snooping enemy, while the two elder sons, Jai (Srikanth) and Ajay (Shaam), pick a more surprisingly divided route of destruction.
Vijay shares his thoughts about ‘Varisu’ film streaming on OTT
Talking about the film’s OTT release, Vijay said, “For me, Varisu is a very special movie. Despite its opulent setting, it is fundamentally quite sentimental and family-centered. We had a great experience making it, and we are blown away by the support and enthusiasm of the audience who have seen it in theatres thus far. And we're delighted that this movie will now be available to even more of our fans in over 240 countries and territories when it streams on Amazon Video.”
