Rajinikanth displays his chess skills as Tamil Nadu hosts a major tournament

On Thursday, July 28, Bollywood superstar Rajinikanth declared chess as his favorite sport on Twitter. This has just happened after the start of the 44th Chess Olympiad. Rajinikanth tweeted a word of luck for the contest to all of the competitors. The tournament, which is slated to take place in Mahabalipuram from July 28 to August 10 this year, was secured by Tamil Nadu this year.

Sharing an unseen picture of himself playing chess, Thalaiva tweeted, "#ChessOlympiad2022 an indoor game I love the most… wishing all the chess minds the very best... god bless."

Rajinikanth recently released the teaser for the 44th Chess Olympiad on social media. AR Rahhman composed the song, which was directed by Vignesh Shivan.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth was recently in the news after receiving an award from the Income Tax department for consistently paying his taxes. He was described as the state of Tamil Nadu's highest taxpayer.

Rajinikanth has teamed up with director Nelson Dilipkumar for his upcoming flick, Jailer. Shivrajkumar, a well-known Kannada actor, would reportedly play a significant part in this much awaited drama. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is reportedly also being considered to play the female lead in Jailer, according to other reports. Previously, the two appeared together onscreen in the 2010 thriller drama Enthiran.
