RRR 2: Jr NTR And Ram Charan Are All Set To Shoot The Sequel; But SS Rajamouuli Is NOT A Part Of It?

‘RRR’, directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, made Indian film history. At the 2023 Oscars, the film's upbeat ‘Naatu Naatu’ song won Best Original Song. However, it appears that the story has just begun. Yes, a sequel to ‘RRR’ may be planned. Ram Charan and Jr. NTR is most definitely going to work together again for the sequel, said scriptwriter V Vijayendra Prasad. But SS Rajamouli won't be in charge of it this time. Instead, a Hollywood director will be in charge of the direction.

In an interview with a Telugu news channel, Vijayendra Prasad disclosed that, if it happens, the ‘RRR’ sequel will be overseen by SS Rajamouli and directed by an unknown Hollywood director. The seasoned screenwriter revealed that SS Rajamouli is about to open his production company. SS Karthikeya, the director's son, will be in charge of managing the organization.

Vijayendra Prasad provided information about SS Rajamouli's forthcoming film projects, and he stated that Rajamouli's next project with Mahesh Babu, tentatively titled ‘SSMB29’, will be an adventure movie that was influenced by the Indiana Jones film series. The visually stunning movie will begin production this year in December. Vijayendra Prasad stated that after finishing ‘SSMB29’, SS Rajamouli will begin work on the Mahabharata epic's screen adaptation, the specifics of which he would not reveal.

Returning to ‘RRR’, the action-adventure's initial global box office revenue in 2022 was roughly Rs 1,236 crore. The popularity of the movie was due to the outstanding performances of Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, and Shriya Saran. The unshakable bond between two illustrious revolutionaries who fought for their nation is at the center of ‘RRR’. The 1920s served as the setting for the narrative.
