With its remarkable successes on the global scene, SS Rajamouli's period action drama RRR has brought immense pride to Indian cinema. The song "Naatu Naatu" has now achieved its greatest success to date, earning an Oscar nomination, after winning the Golden Globes award for Best Original Song in 2023. Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, director SS Rajamouli, music director MM Keeravaani, and lyricist Chandrabose can all celebrate RRR's Naatu Naatu's nomination on the Best Original Song shortlist.

Naatu Naatu, a song by MM Keeravani from SS Rajamouli's masterpiece RRR, has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song. In response to the Oscar nomination, Keeravani expressed his joy saying, "It feels fantastic. The Oscars give me the finest sentiments because they honor the aspirations of artists from throughout the world, which is no laughing matter. It requires a lot of work and reputation. The Oscars exist for this reason. We greatly respect and value it as a result. And I'm thrilled to be the first nominee from [South] Asia in this music category.”

Director SS Rajamouli, the master craftsman, who is in shock by the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song's Oscar nomination, took to his official social media accounts to write a moving message.

RRR’s made loud noise across the globe

RRR, a fictional drama that debuted in theatres last March, is based on the lives of two well-known revolutionaries and real-life heroes, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. It is set in the 1920s, just before India became independent. Tarak was cast as Bheem while Ram Charan played the role of Ram. During its theatrical run, the movie made over 1000 crore rupees. Since the movie was re-released in a few places as part of the Beyond Fest and became available on Netflix a few months ago, the west has been enthusiastically celebrating the movie.
