In response to the Oscar nomination, Keeravani expressed his joy saying, "It feels fantastic. The Oscars give me the finest sentiments because they honor the aspirations of artists from throughout the world, which is no laughing matter. It requires a lot of work and reputation. The Oscars exist for this reason. We greatly respect and value it as a result. And I'm thrilled to be the first nominee from [South] Asia in this music category.”
Director SS Rajamouli, the master craftsman, who is in shock by the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song's Oscar nomination, took to his official social media accounts to write a moving message.
RRR, a fictional drama that debuted in theatres last March, is based on the lives of two well-known revolutionaries and real-life heroes, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. It is set in the 1920s, just before India became independent. Tarak was cast as Bheem while Ram Charan played the role of Ram. During its theatrical run, the movie made over 1000 crore rupees. Since the movie was re-released in a few places as part of the Beyond Fest and became available on Netflix a few months ago, the west has been enthusiastically celebrating the movie.
