Hombale Films, the production company behind ‘Salaar’, issued an official statement on Wednesday confirming the film's postponement. They also mentioned why the release date was pushed back in the statement. The delay was necessary in order to satisfy the highest standards and provide the audience with an outstanding experience.
The statement read, “We deeply appreciate your unwavering support for #Salaar. With consideration, we must delay the original September 28 release due to unforeseen circumstances. Please understand this decision is made with care, as we’re committed to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience. Our team is working tirelessly to meet the highest standards. The new release date will be revealed in due course. Stay with us as we make the final touches on #SalaarCeaseFire and thank you for being a part of this incredible journey.”

The Prabhas-starrer was slated to hit theatres on September 28 across India. The film would have clashed with Vivek Agnihotri's ‘The Vaccine War’ and the comedy ‘Fukrey 3’’ on that day. It was supposed to be the first big-budget film following ‘Jawan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan. With the delay, ‘Jawan’ gains a much larger opportunity to keep the cash registers ringing.
While the creators have not confirmed a new release date, according to rumours, it will be in November. If it happens, it will be around another biggie, ‘Tiger 3’, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. ‘Salaar’ is directed by Prashanth Neel and also stars Shruti Haasan opposite Prabhas.
