One of the most popular actresses of current times Samantha Ruth Prabhu made her debut in the third episode of the famous talk show Koffee with Karan. The actress was joined by the Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar. After playing the villain Raji on Amazon Prime Video's The Family Man 2, Samantha's acting career began to flourish.
On the show, Karan asked her whether she did the show because she knew the directors already. To which the south actress replied, “I didn’t know Raj & DK at all and even Family Man season 1 hadn’t been released when I started shooting for season 2.” Samantha Ruth Prabhu said her goal in taking on the challenge of playing a character with grey undertones was to shed the bubbly girl label she acquired from her south Indian film roles.
The Majili actress revealed, “It was just this cry for a challenge because you know you get typecast with the roles that you are offered in the south, not because of any fault of theirs but directors saw me a certain way, as the bubbly, cute love interest. I was feeling stifled and I really wanted to break through and here there was an opportunity to look at myself through another lens and I grabbed it. It was divine intervention.”
The pan-India actress also spoke about her marriage and divorce with her ex-husband on the show. Meanwhile, Samantha is awaiting the release of her film Yashoda which is directed by Hari-Harish. She also has Gunasekhar’s Shaakuntalam and Kushi opposite Vijay Deverakonda in her lineup.
