Samantha Ruth Prabhu Opens Up About Her Failed Marriage With Naga Chaitanya, Says ‘I Got Executed By People!’

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is taking a hiatus from acting, has spoken about her myositis in several interviews and social media posts. Samantha spoke up about the personal and professional hardships she endured in the last few years in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar India. She discussed her 'failed marriage' and the failure of her flicks. Samantha was once married to Naga Chaitanya, an actor.

"When I hit an all-time low of, well, a failed marriage, and my health and work were suffering, it was like a triple whammy; boom, boom, boom," Samantha Ruth Prabhu said. “People get executed for considerably less than what I have undergone over the previous two years or so. During that period, I read about performers who had health problems and made a return, or who had suffered from depression or anxiety. Reading their stories also aided me. It gave me confidence to know that if they could do it, so could I."

"It's important to recognise that being a loved star in this country is an incredible gift; so take responsibility for it, be honest and real, and tell your story," she continued. “And it's not always about having the most super hits and blockbusters, how many accolades one has received, having the best figure, or wearing the most gorgeous costumes. It's the suffering, the difficulties, the lows."

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s short-lived marriage:

Samantha Ruth Prabhu married Naga Chaitanya in October 2017. The stars were married for nearly four years until they divorced. The couple announced their divorce in October 2021. At the time, they posted comments on their individual social media pages.

Naga Chaitanya has been linked to Sobhita Dhulipala after they broke their romance in 2021. Samantha, too, has spoken about moving on following her divorce from Chaitanya, stating that she is now focused on her health and job.
