Superstar Star Shivarajkumar is being called once more by Kollywood! The actor is poised to make a bow to Captain Miller, another Tamil movie, after landing a significant part in Rajinikanth-action Nelson's comedy, Jailer. The movie, which is billed as a period piece and will be directed by Rocky director Arun Matheswaran, stars Dhanush in the lead role.
In a recent interview, the star mentioned about being roped into the film. He said, “Dhanush is someone I am really fond of. I have watched each of his movies. Dhanush reminds me a lot of myself, in fact! He's just like me, or I'm just like him, in his mischief and how he acts with his buddies. That's how similar we are! Regarding Dhanush, I particularly like him. The chance to share a screen with him was too good to pass up. When he arrived in Bengaluru, director Arun gave me a 40-minute narrative of the entire film. He actually presented the movie to me because the emotive narration was so captivating. I can only say that if we move forward, the viewers will be able to relate to the bond that exists between me and Dhanush.”
Throwback!
If you'd like a reminder, Dhanush sang a song for Shivarajkumar's action-comedy Vajrakaya back in 2015. Captain Miller will include a dark humour component, with the setting of India in the 1930s. Together with Arjun Thyagarajan, Sendhil Thyagarajan provided the funding.
Dhanush’s next release
Dhanush is currently shooting the upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Vaathi. The Telugu title of the movie's translation is Sir. In the movie, which is being directed by Venky Atluri, Dhanush will play a professor. With this production, Dhanush will make his Telugu film debut. Samyuktha Menon has been chosen to play the lead role, and GV Prakash Kumar has been tapped to write the music. The project is receiving financial support from Sithara Entertainment.
