On June 24, Kannada actor Suraj Kumar, commonly known as Dhruwan, was riding his bike on the Mysuru-Gundluper highway close to Begur when he was involved in a serious traffic accident. He was sent urgently to a Mysuru Manipal Hospital. According to accounts, Suraj suffered a serious injury to his right leg, and surgeons had to amputate it in order to preserve his life.
Suraj, a cyclist, was travelling from Mysuru to Ooty on his bike. On Saturday at 4 p.m., while attempting to pass a tractor, he lost control of the bike and crashed into a tipping truck. To preserve his life, doctors amputated his leg below the knee.
The 24-year-old actor is Paravathamma, the wife of Dr. Rajkumar. He is the son of S A Srinivas, a movie producer. Suraj was visited at the hospital by Kannada celebrity Shivaraj Kumar and his wife.'
With the Anup Anthony-directed movie ‘Bhagawan Shri Krishna Paramathma’, Suraj Kumar was meant to make his acting debut. Darshan, a prominent Kannada actor, starred in the film's release before it was mysteriously shelved. The actor was also working on ‘Ratham’, another movie. Suraj has committed to working on a film with Priya Prakash Varrier, although it is uncertain what would become of that project.
