Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar aka Thalapathy Vijay turns 48 today. The actor is unquestionably the most popular and loved actor in the film industry, with a large fan base following throughout the South. The Beas’ actor who stepped into the industry decades ago has clearly attained a star status that is incomparable.
Being one of the highest-paid actors, he has acted in more than 65 films. Vijay made his debut in the industry at the age of 10. He also acted as a child artist in many films directed by his father. The actor debuted in a leading role in the film Naalaiya Theerpu which was released in the year 1992.
Thalapathy’s ‘Ghilli’ was the first Tamil film to gross more than 500 million rupees (50 crores) in its domestic release. Vijay has a bucket full of major hits over the years which includes Pokkiri, Theri, Kaththi, Mersal, Bigil, and many more. Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj starring Vijay is considered one of the most loved films of the actor.
Over the years, Vijay has received numerous awards, despite the fact that he rarely attends gatherings. Apart from films, Vijay has also formed the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (Vijay People Organization), a social welfare organization that was officially launched in July 2009 and is responsible for much of his humanitarian efforts.
Superstar Vijay will be back with his next film Varisu, directed by Vamshi Padipally. Varisu also features Rashmika Mandana, Prakash Raj, and Jay Sudha in pivotal roles.
