Trisha Krishnan and Jayam Ravi, who last collaborated with Mani Ratnam on ‘Ponniyin Selvan: II’, have reunited for the director's next project, which will feature Kamal Haasan.
The creators made the formal announcement via an Instagram post. This would be Trisha's third film with Kamal Haasan, following ‘Manmadan Ambu’ and ‘Thoongaa Vanam’. Jayam Ravi will also be making his acting debut with Kamal Haasan.

Trisha Krishnan's involvement in ‘Thug Life’ will mark her third collaboration with filmmaker Mani Ratnam. Her first collaboration with the filmmaker was in the 2004 film ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’, a multi-starrer starring actors Suriya, Madhavan, and Siddharth. Trisha played the character Meera, who was Siddharth's love interest in the film.
Furthermore, Jayam Ravi garnered critical appreciation for his role in the film ‘Ponniyin Selvan – II’. The actor's reunion with Mani Ratnam is undoubtedly spectacular.
It was already stated that Dulquer Salmaan would also join the film's official cast. The official title of the film was announced Friday evening.
The film, which sees the reunion of Kamla Haasan and Mani Ratnam after decades apart, has undoubtedly heated up many fans, given that their last collaboration, ‘Nayakan’, was a major smash and cult classic that is still cherished today.
Trisha Krishnan was most recently seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Thalapathy Vijay flick ‘Leo’. The film, which is now in theatres, also marked her comeback with actor Vijay following their disastrous 2008 flick ‘Kuruvi’.
Furthermore, Trisha Krishan will co-star alongside Ajith Kumar in his upcoming film ‘VidaaMuyarchi’, which is presently filming in Azerbaijan.
Aside from these fascinating Tamil films, Trisha Krishnan will make her Malayalam debut with Mohanlal in ‘Ram: Part 1’ helmed by ‘Drishyam’ director Jeethu Joseph. She is also cast in an important part in another Malayalam film, ‘Identity’, starring Tovino Thomas.

In terms of his professional career, Jayam Ravi was most recently seen in the film ‘Iraivan’, with Nayanthara and Rahul Bose. In addition, he is now filming for his film ‘Brother’, directed by M Rajesh, featuring Priyanka Arul Mohan in the major part. The actor will also star in the flicks Siren and Genie alongside Keerthy Suresh.
