After the massive success of Thiruchitrabalam starring Nithya Menon, Dhanush is all set to shine on the big screens again with his next film Vaathi. Ever since the Tamil film was announced, fans have been eagerly waiting for the film to come out. Finally, ahead of its release, the makers have unveiled the trailer of the film. On Wednesday, the Tamil-Telugu language trailer for Dhanush's next movie Vaathi was made public. From the visuals, it appears like the movie is about one man's struggle against a system that depends on the privatization of education.
The trailer begins with Samuthirakani's character discussing how education is a nonprofit organization in India. According to him, private schools would soon replace public schools. One of the top universities in the nation has Samuthirakani playing its chairman. A few frames later, Dhanush is sent to teach in one of the public schools as a member of the faculty. Samuthirakani has entrusted him with performing that task. The rest of the teaser makes it clear that Dhanush opposes Samuthirakani's plan to convert public schools into yet another lucrative for-profit institution, and it appears that the movie will centre on their fight.
Venky Atluri is the director, and the movie was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Telugu. The Telugu name of the social drama is SIR. And it is scheduled for release on February 17 across the globe. Dhanush makes his Telugu film debut with this movie as well.
