The pan-Indian film essays the life of an aspiring MMA champion, who travels to Mumbai with his mother to win this title. Ananya plays Vijay's on-screen love interest and the film also stars Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Ali, Makarand Deshpande, and Getup Srinu in pivotal roles. Mike Tyson makes an astonishing cameo in the film.
The film is helmed by Puri Jagannadh and backed by Karan Johar under his production banner Dharma Productions in collaboration with Puri Connects. Recently Vijay and Ananya were spotted in the audience at a theatre in Hyderabad. Vijay wore a checkered shirt with grey pants and Ananya sported a purple sleeveless top over white trousers. The two wanted to catch the audience's fresh reaction to their film.
Recently, Vijay was asked how he would react if the film ‘Liger’ flops. He replied, "Had you asked me this question a few years back, I would have replied with anger. I would have been so angry. However, with the kind of love that I have received in the last few days, it would be disrespectful to that if I react angrily to such small things around me. I want to remember the love. The audience is important, we work for them, and we travel to cities just to meet them and we want to win. their love."
