‘Vikram’, the 2022 blockbuster that marked veteran actor Kamal Haasan's big comeback into films, is one of the finest multi-starrers in Indian cinema in recent times. The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed film starred National award-winning actors Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, with Suriya making a cameo appearance.
In the film, Vijay Sethupathi plays Sandhanam, the vicious boss of a drug gang who works for Suriya's character Rolex. Even though Sandhanam was slain at the end of ‘Vikram’, people expected his character to be revived because the real death sequence was never aired. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, on the other hand, has finally put a stop to all fan hypotheses.

Lokesh Kanagaraj gives confirmation on replacing Vijay Sethupathi's Sandhanam in LCU:
Lokesh Kanagaraj stated in a recent interview with the Cinema Express YouTube channel that the tale of Vijay Sethupathi's character Sandhanam in the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) films had truly come to an end. The director also clarified that Sandhanam died at the end of Vikram and will not appear in the subsequent episodes.
The ‘Vikram’ opponent will be replaced in the forthcoming LCU films with a new brand character who will help Rolex develop his drug business and realise his political ambitions. However, director Lokesh and his crew would concentrate on casting after completing the forthcoming Rajinikanth production, reportedly titled ‘Thalaivar 171.’
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Big Strategy to Boost LCU:
Lokesh Kanagaraj is taking a sabbatical from his LCU projects to work on his standalone action film starring superstar Rajinikanth, as you may know. Following the OTT release of Leo, the filmmaker will take a six-month hiatus from social media to work on the screenplay for the project, which will go into production by mid-2024.

Following the release of ‘Thalaivar 171’, Lokesh will immediately begin production on ‘Kaithi 2’, the highly awaited sequel to LCU's debut film, which stars Karthi. Later, he will direct other films in the action thriller universe, including the ‘Rolex’ solo feature, the ‘Leo’ sequel, and ‘Vikram 2’, which will be the 'final game' of the LCU.
