Waltair Veerayya: Chiranjeevi reveals name of his next with director Bobby
During a promotional event for his film Acharya, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi revealed the name of his upcoming film with director KS Ravindra aka Bobby. The movie has been titled Waltair Veerayya.
The shooting for the project is currently underway at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The film was officially announced in August 2021 and a puja ceremony was also conducted in the month of November.
Shruti Haasan has been signed to play the leading lady opposite Chiranjeevi. This is the first time the duo have been cast opposite each other.
Produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, Waltair Veerayya marks the first cinematic collaboration of Chiranjeevi and Bobby. As per reports, the budget of the film is a jaw-dropping Rs 200 crore.
Arthur A Wilson has been roped in for cinematography whereas Niranjan Devaramane will handle the editing. Music for the film will be composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
On the work front, Chiranjeevi was last seen in the action drama Acharya (2022) which also starred Ram Charan, Pooja Hegde, Sonu Sood, Jisshu Sengupta, Nassar, Vennela Kishore, Tanikella Bharani, Ajay and Ravi Prakash.
Made on an estimated budget of Rs 140 crore, Acharya released on April 29 and bagged a total of Rs 7.99 crore at the box office on day 1. Analysts say that the film has failed to impress the audiences despite high scale promotions and the hype surrounding it.
