Vinayakan, the actor who has gained worldwide fame for his role as the major antagonist in Rajinikanth's film 'Jailer', was recently detained following a heated confrontation at the Ernakulam North police station.
After a medical examination, actor Vinayakan was given bail on Friday night. He has been accused of losing control in public, shouting at government employees without justification, and acting improperly. For the alleged misbehaviour, a complaint had been brought against him.

Vinayakan's quick and unexpected release on bail sparked accusations of political favouritism, with MLA Uma Thomas suggesting that Vinayakan's association with the Communist Party may have accelerated his release.
Uma Thomas raised her worries in a Facebook post written in Malayalam, writing, "We all have been watching drunk Vinayakan's antics on media. He verbally insulted police officials, including the SHO at Ernakulam North Station. Despite arriving to the station, acting outrageously, and impeding police officers' responsibilities, he was freed on bond by the station on flimsy accusations. Is this the benefit of being a comrade? Or is it acting on Cliff House's orders? I'm intrigued. Whatever the situation may be, it goes without saying that the episode is disheartening for a segment of police personnel who work with dignity..."
Why was Vinayakan arrested?
The incident that resulted in Vinayakan's detention was the result of a family feud. Vinayakan summoned the police to his flat near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kaloor, Kochi, at 4:30 p.m. It became clear that the family feud was centered on a quarrel over the acquisition of an apartment. The police held talks with the parties involved.
During the police interviews, Vinayakan became irritated and yelled at the officers, accusing them of being unjust by only hearing one side of the story and being biased against the ladies. He yelled aggressively at the policemen, particularly the female officers, to leave his flat immediately.
The actor went to the police station at 7:30 p.m. and angrily insulted the cops present. This resulted in his detention, and he was transported to Ernakulam General Hospital for a medical examination on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol.

Vinayakan was furious, questioning why he was arrested when he had meant to submit a complaint at the police station. A large crowd formed during Vinayakan's inspection at the hospital, but they were subsequently removed by police, following which Vinayakan complied with the medical examination.
