Life OK’s Chandrakanta to go off air owing to low TRPs!

Launched with much fanfare, Like OK’s fantasy drama show Prem Ya Paheli - Chandrakanta is all set to make a quick exit in a few days from now. If reliable sources are to be believed, the show might be taken off air soon due to falling numbers. Chandrakanta features Kritika Kamra and Gaurav Khanna in lead roles. It’s one of the big-budgeted shows on the channel.
Prem Ya Paheli – Chandrakanta, which debuted on TV hardly a couple of months back, is one of the grandest shows on Life OK. The makers have spent money like sailors on the making of the show. But it failed to garner the kind of TRPs the makers had expected from it. In absence of required numbers, the channel has now decided to axe it. As per sources, the show may wrap up its journey by August end. Not just Chandrakanta, another Life OK's magnum opus, Sher-E-Punjab Maharana Ranjith Singh, is also nearing its immature end, reportedly.
Produced by Triangle Films, Chandrakanta is inspired by the popular Hindi novel Chandrakanta, written by eminent writer Devaki Nandan Khatri. It’s not the first time when the novel inspired TV producers to make a show on it. In the 90s, producer Nirja Guleri also made a show on the novel, which ran on Doordarshan and was immensely popular among the audience. Not just that, TV queen Ekta Kapoor has also launched her version of Chandrakanta on Colors, recently.
