Popular sitcom ‘Khichdi’ to make a comeback and Renuka Shahane to do a cameo in it!
TV’s one of the most popular sitcoms, ‘Khichdi’ is coming back after a gap of 11 long years and Renuka Shahane might be seen doing a cameo.

One of the most popular and highly appreciated sitcoms ‘Khichdi’, is about to make a comeback on the small screen after a long gap of 13 years. While the new series will feature the same talented cast of Anang Desai aka Bubuji, Supriya Pathak aka Hansa, Vandana Pathak aka Jayshree, and Rajeev Mehta aka Praful, as per latest developments, ‘ Hum Apke Hai Koun...! ’ actor Renuka Shahane has been signed to play a pivotal cameo.
A source told to a leading online portal, “Star Plus is on a bid to recreate the magic of ‘Khichdi’. With no comedy show in its kitty, the channel wants to pump up its dropped ratings and has decided to place its bet on ‘Khichdi’. The show had worked wonders and they are confident that the new season will once again rule the audience’s heart.”
‘Khichdi’ became popular because of its simple story telling and interesting characters. The makers of the show adopted the western style and they ended the show in a year and came back in 2005 with its season 2. Though the second season couldn’t manage to match the feat of the previous one, it was surely a successful venture. The makers also used the same premise and characters to make ‘Khichdi: The Movie’ in 2010. The first film in Indian cinema to be based on a television series performed well at the box office.
Unlike JD Majethia’s another sitcom, ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’, ‘Khichdi’ will make a comeback on small screen rather than streaming on any online portal.
