On one hand, Sony Entertainment Television is launching one promising show after another. On the other hand, it is also pulling the plug on many of its recently launched shows. After pulling down the much-controversial show Pehredaar Piya Ki and The Kapil Sharma Show just a couple of weeks ago, the latest we hear is that the channel has decided to end one of its newest shows, The Drama Company. Reports also claim that Sony TV is planning to allot the same time slot to a new nonfiction show featuring Sunil Grover .
According to our sources, The Drama Company will air its final episode by the end of this month. The reason is that despite trying everything the show failed to put up a great performance on the TRP chart. Recently, reports were doing the rounds that Sunil Grover will join The Drama Company, but that is not true. The channel has decided to give him his own non-fiction show.
An insider reveals, “It is in a very nascent stage. But the channel for sure is bringing a nonfiction project with Sunil Grover. The concept and idea are still at the discussion stage but it will obviously be a comic series.” To be produced by Lil Frodo and Frames Sunil Grover’s show will replace The Drama Company which features Krushna Abhishek , Sudesh Lehri , Mithun Chakraborty , Ali Asgar , Dr. Sanket Bhosale, Sugandha Mishra , Ridhima Pandit, Aru Verma and Tanaji.
