Akanksha Puri turns down lead role in Colors’ Chotti Sarrdaarni due to packed schedule
According to reports, actress Akanksha Puri has turned down the offer to play the female lead on Colors’ popular daily soap Chotti Sarrdaarni. The actress, who became a household name after playing the lead character on Sony Entertainment Television’s Vighnaharta Ganesha, could not take up the role due to her work commitments.
Confirming the same, Puri told a publication, “The love and admiration that you get when you work for daily soaps cannot be expressed in words. When I was approached for a replacement, for Chotti Sarrdaarni, I was really not ready for it. Even in the past when I left my show Vighnaharta Ganesha, the show went off air soon. I was the face of the show for three years and a replacement has got to the end.”
She went on to add, “Chotti Sarrdaarni has been a show which has been running from the past few years. It will be really difficult for the audience to accept someone who has replaced that person. I would love to do television in the future but replacing someone is not something I would want to do ever.”
Akanksha Puri will next be seen in Randeep Hooda starrer Inspector Avinash.
