Alibaba: Dastaan-E-Kabul: Sheezan Khan is thrilled to play Alibaba in the drama
We have all grown up hearing the well-known tale of Alibaba and the Forty Thieves, and now the narrative is being adapted for the small screen with Jodha Akbar (2013) fame Sheezan M. Khan portraying the titular character of Alibaba in Alibaba - Dastaan-e-Kabul. The actor claimed that the Alibaba depiction differs greatly from what has been previously seen.
Spilling beans on his character, Sheezan said in an interview, "The character of Ali is very unlike what you have seen on screen before. I started my career as Akbar Jalaluddin and since then I have played a diversity of roles, but the character of Alibaba has a magical quality to it, something that I have never ever played before."
"It has personally touched me and truth should be told, there were times where I have been in doubt on whether I will be able to do justice to this role or not. But, I have taken this up as a dare and I am really enjoying the journey," he added.
He elaborated on the concept of the show and the efforts made by its creators to set it apart from other versions of the same serial. "I am very excited to play the character of Alibaba, the name needs no introduction, the name itself has so many adventures attached to it,” Khan concluded.
Alibaba - Dastaan-e-Kaabul will start airing on Sony Sab.
