Erica Fernandes Opens Up On Whether She Has QUIT The TV Industry; Says 'Not Getting Challenging Roles To Play'

Following the popularity of the programme, the actress appeared alongside Parth Samthaan in 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2.' Erica has, however, been out of the spotlight for a while, and in a recent interview, she talked about her hiatus from television.

Erica, who previously made headlines for relocating her headquarters to Dubai, is presently promoting 'The Haunting,' her first OTT short film. She has been dropping bombs and exposing the underbelly of the TV and movie industries while on her promotional blitz. The actress has gained notoriety for her assertion that she 'belongs to the group in Bollywood.'

Erica Fernandes arrived in India to promote ‘The Hunting,’ her first OTT short film. The actress recently opened up about her sabbatical from TV and revealed whether or not she's thinking about going back to the small screen. Erica revealed some startling details and said that she didn't feel like she was developing as an actor. She added that she didn't get any demanding parts offered to her.

Erica Fernandes said, “The reason why I took this break was I felt I was stuck. I felt very stagnant. It’s not about the success you get out of the successful shows that you are a part of. Why I said I felt stagnant is because I was doing good shows, but I was not growing as an actor. I was doing very similar kinds of things. I was not getting any challenging roles to play. So, I wanted to wait it out and give some time and wanted to see what’s coming my way. Everything was perfect. Sometimes you just get tired doing the same things and you want something that would change it. This short film was for me.”

Additionally, when asked if she had any plans to return to TV, Erica left the question open-ended rather than providing a definitive statement.

She said, “I don’t want to take a break from TV intentionally. If I get something which is different from the past two shows (KZK 2 and KRPKAB) that I have done, then I will definitely come back to the TV screen. Even if I have to change my appearance, I am ok. A good role doesn’t mean you have to look glamorous on screen. I don’t believe in that. People don’t see you for the look, they see the weightage a character has on you.”
