Exclusive: Casting Director Dheeraj Mishra Says ‘Casting Twins For ‘Dil Hi Toh Hai 2’ Has Been A Challenging Casting But I Achieved It Successfully’
To set-up any project requires an array of specialists. A whole lot of pre-production goes into ringing a show together. One important department that works day in and out is the Casting department. While the Casting Directors put in a lot of hard work, effort, and sleepless nights, they seldom get recognition.

Mishra has set up many shows and is known for casting in numerous shows. We got in touch with Mishra and asked him a few questions about his journey in the industry. Casting Director Dheeraj Mishra spoke about whether big actors are approachable for shows on new channels or not. He said, “Some are apprehensive towards working with new channels while others are open to working for new channels. It's very much relative, but largely I would say that established actors refrain from working with new channels.”
He shared his best casting experience until now. Dheeraj said, “Completing the entire casting of my recent show ‘SHRAVANI’ on Shemaroo Umang in less than a month.” (Also Read: Fitness icon Guru Mann reveals who, in his opinion, is the fittest actor and actress in Bollywood)
He also talked about his worst casting experience and mentioned, “I have found my passion in casting actors. Certainly hasn't come without challenges and difficulties, which resulted in what I am today. Therefore now in hindsight, I am unable to consider any of those difficult phases of casting as my worst casting experience.”
While talking about his difficult casting experience which was problematic to crack, he added “Finding twins, and those twins which suit the character required by the script, which I eventually did in ‘Dil Hi To hai’ season 2 ALT Balaji.”
He also shed light on casting frauds faced by newcomers in the entertainment industry. Dheeraj said, “Certainly, It is unfortunate that such things happen, but I am hopeful that with increased social media and digital presence of authentic casting and production agencies, such issues of fraud can be curbed to a large extent.”
