In a recent interview, Rupali Ganguly, now more popularly known as Anupama, spoke about how the show has been making a great impact on women and gives entirely credit to the show's producer, Ranjan Shahi. In a recent episode of 'The Ranveer Show' podcast, Rupali shared, “Anupamaa has very big cultural role in this country. I think so, because there have been so many women who come and say that they learned self-love. This is a very big thing and we are just faces. We are just puppets. The one who created the show is Rajan Shahi. This is his vision. This is his confidence that he brought a 42 year old woman on tv screen. He brought a show called ‘Anupamaa’ through her, he brought the story of a housewife who was very frustrated with her in-laws, husband and children.”

She further added, “To bring this story up at this time, Rajan ji took a very big risk. There are things that we have spoken about, for example, “we should not bargain with small vendors”, I think that clip went viral then in a way , ordination, culture the importance of worship is told. So, all this is the work of Rajan ji.”
