Jay Soni disappointed as Star Bharat axes Sasural Genda Phool 2
It is always disheartening for actors when their shows go off-air all of a sudden, and even more so when the channel decides to pull the plug on shows within months of their launch.
Actor Jay Soni is experiencing the same disappointment as his recently launched show Sasural Genda Phool 2 is being axed within a few months of hitting the airwaves. The show is a sequel to his long-running successful show Sasural Genda Phool and went on-air in December on Star Bharat. However, the channel has decided to end its run within four months.
Expressing his disappointment, Soni told a publication, “Yes, the show is ending but I have no complaints or regrets. We made a good show. It’s just that we could not get the audience we had expected. There could be multiple reasons. You cannot pin the blame on anyone in particular.”
The actor went on to add, “Everything was in place and I am proud of the team associated with the show. Also, I cannot comment on how one gets the audience, as I don’t understand that aspect. As far as I am concerned, I got good feedback from people who watched the show. The makers have appreciated my work because Ishaan (Jay’s character in SGP) in the second season was different from the previous one. So, the actor in me is happy.”
