Jennifer Winget speaks on her divorce from Karan Singh Grover and recalls getting pissed when people looked at her with sad sympathetic eyes

After getting to know each other on the Dill Mill Gayye set, Jennifer Winget and Karan began dating. Jennifer portrayed Dr. Riddhima Gupta in the show, and Karan portrayed Dr. Armaan Malik, who was her love interest. Karan wed Shraddha Nigam before getting married to Jennifer. Before getting married in 2012, Jennifer and Karan dated for a few years. They filed for divorce in 2014. In a recent chat, the Bepanaah actress revealed that following their divorce, she had to isolate herself from people because they weren't ready when they made the decision.

Speaking about her separation from Karan the actress said, “It felt right then and I have some lovely memories of it. That’s what I choose to remember. Unfortunately, I think both of us were not ready. It’s not just him or it’s not just me. I think both of us were not ready to take that step. We had been friends for so long and we were like a house on fire every time we met. I don’t know, it was unfortunate timing I guess.”

The actress recalled isolating herself post her divorce and how people would look at her. “I was so lost and confused that I didn’t know what to tell people or how to process that. I remember my friends used to force me to go out and I’m like I don’t want to go. But whenever I used to go out, I used to see people looking at me with those sad, sympathetic eyes like ‘arre bechari yaar’ and it used to piss me off even more. That’s why I would not go out. I understand you’re feeling for me, it’s great but I don’t need that right now. Right now I’m not ready to deal with you because I’m dealing with me. So that’s why I cut off from people and once I was done with it, then I am so done with it,” said Jennifer.
