Kashmera Shah consents to testify as a "character witness" for Karan Mehra in his case against his ex-wife Nisha Rawal
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (2009) star Karan Mehra has been entangled in a legal dispute with his estranged wife Nisha Rawal. Kashmera Shah has come out in favor of Karan Mehra. When Nisha claimed last year that Karan had hit and molested her, their marital situation became the talk of the town. After she lodged an FIR against Karan, he was even detained. In a recent press conference, the actor who had previously kept quiet about Nisha exposed her. The extramarital romance between Nisha and her Rakhi brother Rohit Sathia, according to Karan, was believed to be occurring. Kashmera Shah came out in support of Karan.
In an interview, Kashmera said that she noticed a number of warning signs throughout the entire incident between Nisha and Karan. Kashmera said, "Nisha was quiet and Rohit was hyper. He had tears in his eyes and told us that Karan had taken Nisha into the room, closed the door and hit her head against the wall. I asked if he had seen it. He said ‘yes’. I asked him how he managed to see it if the door was closed. I sensed some ‘gadbad’."
"I told Rohit Sathia the truth would be out because there was a camera (CCTV) in that room. He said ‘nahi, yeh camera bandh hai'. That was another red flag," she added.
Shah concluded by stating, “In my heart I believe he (Karan) is innocent."
On November 24, 2012, Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal got married.
