R.I.P: National Award-Winning Actress Uttara Baokar Dies At 79

Uttara Baokar, a well-known actress and theatrical artist, died on Wednesday in Pune after a brief illness, according to family members. She was 79. Baokar, who had been ill for a year, died on Tuesday at a hospital, and her final rites are to be performed today. Several celebrities and co-workers turned to social media to mourn her death. The actress has been suffering from a prolonged illness for a long time and finally left for her heavenly abode on Wednesday.

Sunil Sukthankar, a filmmaker, stated that he worked on eight feature films with her, and Sumitra Bhave regarded her as an actor who played powerful female characters. "She played a variety of female roles in our films and was a very disciplined actor." "There used to be a no-nonsense attitude around on the sets with her," she recounted.

Despite being better known as 'Bebe,' the wisecracking Punjabi grandmother of 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahi,' Baokar left behind an enormously rich and diversified body of work in a career spanning nearly four decades. She was well-known in the Hindi and Marathi film industries, as well as the theatre scene.
