Randeep Rai shares what drew him to sign Balika Vadhu 2
Randeep Rai, who became a household name after playing Sameer Maheshwari on Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, will shortly be seen on Colors’ recently-launched show, Balika Vadhu 2.
Produced by Sphere Origins, Balika Vadhu 2 is set for a generation leap starting next month. Several new actors are expected to join the cast post the leap. While Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame Shivangi Joshi is onboard to play Anandi, Randeep Rai has signed up to essay the character of Anand on the show.
When asked what prompted him to say yes to Balika Vadhu 2, Rai told a digital publication, “I think the name of the show, Balika Vadhu, is enough and it was such a hit show when Season 1 came. And when I got to know about Season 2, I was very happy and excited about being associated with the show and getting that chance. And I gave my 100% in the audition. Now when I am doing the show, I am doing a show after around two-and-a-half-years given the lockdown, COVID-19, etc. It is an absolute honour.”
The young actor goes on to add that this is a little different role for him. “I always say that no matter how many characters you play, it must be different from the previous one,” he explains. “This is different from what I did earlier. I will make sure I do my 100% and add my style and flavour and make it a good character.”
Balika Vadhu 2 airs from Monday to Friday at 8pm on Colors.
