Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta approach Rahil Azam for new show Swaran Ghar?
After the huge success of Udaariyaan on Colors, actors-turned-producers Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey are set to launch yet another show on the same channel. Several prominent actors from the television industry have been approached to play significant parts on the show.
If reports are to be believed, the forthcoming show is on the lines of the 2003 film Baghban and has been titled Swaran Ghar. Seasoned actress Sangita Ghosh has reportedly been roped in to play the female lead on the show.
And now, sources reveal that popular television actor Rahil Azam, known for his role in Hatim, was also in talks for a prominent role in the show. However, he has turned down the offer for reasons best known to him.
Bollywood star Jimmy Sheirgill has also been approached for the show. Confirming the same, the actor told a publication. “Yes, I was in talks for the show. I have known Ravi and Sargun for a long time and they are really close to me. They had come to me with an interesting script which I quite liked. My only concern regarding shooting for TV shows was that it requires a lot of your time. But this show required a few days in a month and it was falling in my scheme of things. While I am interested in the same, there has not been any progress. I have not signed the dotted lines and there have not been any discussions post that.”
