Shiju Kataria exits Colors' Balika Vadhu 2
Balika Vadhu 2, which hit our television screens on August 9, 2021, has successfully managed to create its own place in audiences’ hearts. Its engrossing storyline and powerful performances from the cast have caught audiences’ attention in a very short span of time. Apart from the lead pair of Anandi and Jigar, the character of Sejal has also become quite popular in no time. If you too loved the said character on the show, here is a bad piece of news for you!
Actress Shiju Kataria, who plays Sejal on Balika Vadhu 2, has decided to quit the show. Yes, you read that absolutely right! Kataria will not be continuing playing her character post the leap on the show, which will be introduced soon.
Talking to a publication, Shiju Kataria confirmed the same and revealed the reason behind her decision. “Well, it was my conscious decision on quitting the show as the leap will have an older generation coming in and I was not comfortable playing a mother to co-stars who are nearly my age,” she said.
The actress went on to add, “Even when I picked the character of Sejal initially we were told that the leap is a far long plan. Anandi and Jigar would stay for good 2-3years, but the leap was quite sudden and new characters with a completely different track were introduced. I decided that I wouldn't continue playing Sejal post the leap.”
Balika Vadhu 2 airs on Colors.
