In an interview, Priya Ahuja discussed how Asit Modi and his team's behaviour changed as a result of her marriage to the filmmaker Malav Rajda. She alleged that she had received unfair treatment and that 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's performers were subjected to psychological abuse. She claimed that after she married Malav, her role in the performance was diminished, and that after she left. she had no idea what her role had been in. Priya said that she sent Asit Modi numerous messages inquiring about her track in the show but never got a response. To clarify her role, she even texted Sohil Ramani, but her efforts were ineffective.

She further added, "Mujhe aap ne 9 months se show par nahi bulaya because your relationship with Malav ended and aapne uske baad mujhe makkhi ki tarah Nikal ke phek diya…." She even asserted that she had heard why she needed to work given what Malav was making. Priya Ahuja felt mistreated since, despite spending 14 years working on the programme, no one from the producers responded to her inquiry regarding her track.
