Fans of "God of War" will enjoy this. Today, Amazon said that a live-action series based on the hugely successful PlayStation game will be added to Prime Video.
ABOUT GOD OF WAR
The series will follow Kratos, the God of War, as he departs from his bloody past in ancient Greece to live in the Norse realm of Midgard. After his wife dies, Kratos embarks on a perilous journey with his estranged son Atreus to carry out her final wish—spreading her ashes from the highest peak—in order to honour her wishes. On this journey, however, Kratos' relationship with his son is put to the test as he must battle a variety of different Gods and creatures.
Amazon's upcoming "God of War" series is most certainly going to be a great success. The statement comes as the "God of War" sequel, "God of War: Ragnarok," which was made available to the general public last month, has been snatched up by eager gamers. "God of War: Ragnarok," created by Santa Monica Studio, was the "fastest-selling first-party launch game in PlayStation history," according to a tweet from Sony. A staggering 5.1 million copies of the record-breaking game were sold in just the first week.
VERNON SANDERS
According to a statement by Vernon Sanders, director of international television at Amazon Studio, “The ‘God of War’ is a compelling, character-driven franchise that we believe will captivate our global customers as much with its expansive and immersive worlds as its rich storytelling,”
AMAZON RELEASED THESE GAME ADAPTATIONS
The newest live-action series from Amazon follows a long list of other video game adaptations, including "The Last of Us," an impending HBO series, "Halo," and other Netflix programs, including "Arcane," "Resident Evil," and "Witcher," among others.
