Gagan Dev Riar to lead Scam 2003, sequel to Pratik Gandhi starrer Scam 1992
Pratik Gandhi-starrer Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story (2020) became a huge hit, leaving the audience enthralled and demanding more. The sequel to the blockbuster show, Scam 2003, has finally been announced, and it will focus on Abdul Karim Telgi's Stamp Paper Scam.
Pratik Gandhi, who played stockbroker Harshad Mehta in Scam 1992, announced the news on his social media account, along with the revelation that the creators have cast veteran theatre performer Gagan Dev Riar in the lead role of Abdul Karim Telgi.
According to reports, the Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi will be the subject of Scam 2003. Abdul Karim Telgi was born in Khanapur and rose through the ranks to become the "mastermind of one of India's most ingenious scams," which spanned multiple towns across the country. The show will be based on journalist Sanjay Singh's book Reporter Ki Diary.
While actor Pratik Gandhi nailed the role of Harshad Mehta, Dalal Street's Big Bull, the creative and casting teams have finally discovered the ideal fit in Riar to play Telgi, the fruit seller who built an empire by counterfeiting stamp papers.
National Award-winning director Hansal Mehta and Tushar Hiranandani will direct the series. Applause Entertainment is collaborating with StudioNEXT on Scam 2003: The Telgi Story. It will be released on Sony LIV soon.
