Kajol reveals she was Ram Madhvani's first choice for Aarya before Sushmita Sen
Kajol said in a recent interview that she was also approached for Sushmita Sen's immensely popular show Aarya.

Sushmita Sen won over everyone's hearts and left an impression when she made her comeback in Ram Madhvani's web series Aarya (2020). Aarya 2 was released in December 2020 and yet again received stellar reviews from the critics, given the fact that the first season of the show was also nominated for best drama series at the International Emmy Awards. Clearly, both of the seasons were popular. However, Sen was not the first choice of Ram Madhvani for the Disney+Hotstar series.
Kajol revealed in a recent interview that she was offered Aarya before Sushmita Sen. She said, “I was (approached)." She also acknowledged watching the show and continued, “I did and I liked the script very much. But it didn’t work out for me personally at that time." When questioned if the date issue prevented her from accepting the project, Kajol responded, "There were other reasons for it.
However, Kajol did discuss the web and stated that OTT services do provide artists a platform to be "a little freer." Kajol mentioned that there are numerous restrictions while producing a movie for theatres. Writing must adjust as a result because there are many things that one cannot do on a big screen, according to her.
On the professional front, Kajol's most recent appearance was in the Netflix film Tribhanga (2021), which also starred Mithila Palkar and Tanzi Azmi. Kajol will reportedly next be seen in Salaam Venky, a film helmed by Revathi.
