JTBC Studio announced on February 21 that the popular Korean drama Something In The Rain will be remade in Hindi. Pocket Aces will present the Hindi adaptation alongside JTBC Studio, the original developers. Something In The Rain had 16 episodes when it premiered in March 2018.
The popular Korean show is directed by Ahn Pan-seok. It stars Son Ye-jin, and Jung Hae-in and is about two people's love and their journey from simply acquaintances to a genuine pair. The episodes provide an up-close look at how they met and fell in love, as well as their problems with age gaps. Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food is the other title for the drama, where noona is a term used to refer to a female by a male younger than her.
Fans of K dramas took to social media to express their excitement. As one Twitter user put it, "
Another person said on Twitter, "One spring night getting Chinese Adaptation Something in the rain getting Indian adaptation Two of most populated markets... & they will watch originals too HAEIN YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS."
This isn't the first time a Korean show has been remade in India. Awarapan (2007), starring Shriya Saran, Emraan Hashmi, Ashutosh Rana, and Mrinalini Sharma, was inspired by the 2005 Korean film A Bittersweet Life (2005). In recent years, the number of viewers of the K drama series has increased dramatically. Netflix had said that, when compared to 2019, viewing of Korean drama series surged by more than 370 percent in 2020.
