The Marvel Cinematic Universe has added another feather to their cap as they announced their first Muslim superhero. Iman Vellani will play the lead character as Kamala Khan in Ms Marvel. Fans will see Kamala trying to balance her high school life as a teenager and the unique responsibilities of being a superhero with new superpowers.
The trailer depicts Kamala Khan, a teenager from Jersey City as a die-hard Avenger fan who aspires to be an artist and an avid gamer. And suddenly life takes her on a rollercoaster ride with superpowers and like her heroes and the responsibility to save the world. The only thing that was missing in the trailer was Farhan Akhtar as we believed him to be the part of the show.
Fawad Khan, who previously confirmed shooting for the series, was also nowhere to be seen. Either the audience is up for a surprise or else it seems like they will have to miss their favorite actors.
It will be part of Phase Four of the MCU. The series will serve as a set-up for the film The Marvels (2023), in which Vellani will reprise her role as Khan along with additional cast members from the series.
