Netflix to stream animated series based on Taarak Mehta Ka Chhota Chashmah from Feb 24
Fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah will be happy to know that the show, which is one of the world’s longest-running daily comedy shows, will soon be available on Netflix in a brand-new format. Yes, you read that correctly! From February 24, 2022, the animated series Taarak Mehta Ka Chhota Chashmah, based on the popular comedy show, will be available on Netflix.
Sharing the big news, the producer of TMKOC Asit Kumarr Modi said that as long as the content is great, the show can foray into other mediums also. Talking about its OTT release, Modi was quoted by IANS as saying, “It also reiterates that pure humour can bring a positive transformation in our society and at Neela Film Productions, spreading joy is pivotal to our ethos. We`re glad that our viewers especially, kids will get to enjoy 'Taarak Mehta Ka Chhota Chashmah' on OTT as well.”
For the unversed, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is based on the weekly Gujarati column Duniya Ne Undha Chasma by late playwright Taarak Mehta in Chitralekha magazine. The first episode of the sitcom aired in 2008, and the show is now in its 14th season, with over 3300 episodes. The popular comedy sitcom features Dilip Joshi, Munmun Dutta, Shailesh Lodha, and others.
